Custom Domain lets Batchly send supplier remittance emails from your organisation's own email domain instead of the standard Batchly sender.
This gives suppliers a more familiar sender address while keeping the normal Batchly remittance workflow, including payment details, PDF remittance attachments and delivery tracking.
Once Custom Domain is configured and ready to send, Batchly automatically uses the configured sender for new remittance runs where Custom Domain is selected by the remittance sending workflow.
With the standard Batchly sender, remittance emails are sent from Batchly's email infrastructure. With Custom Domain, the email is sent using the From address configured for your organisation.
| Feature | Standard Sender | Custom Domain |
|---|---|---|
| From address | Batchly sender | Your configured email address |
| Sender domain | Batchly domain | Your verified domain |

Custom Domain requires your email domain to be configured and verified before Batchly can send remittances from it.
The setup process generally includes:
The From address is the email address suppliers see as the sender of the remittance email.
For example, an organisation might use an address such as accounts@yourcompany.com or remittances@yourcompany.com.
Once Custom Domain has been configured, the From address is managed as part of the sender configuration and is not directly editable from the Batchly settings screen.
The Reply-To address is separate from the Custom Domain From address.
If a Reply-To address is configured in your Batchly remittance settings, supplier replies are directed to that address. This allows you to use one address for sending remittances and another address for receiving supplier enquiries.
Batchly checks the DNS records required for Custom Domain sending.
The Custom Domain section shows the current sender status together with the last time the domain health was checked.
Ready to send means the Custom Domain sender is configured and the required sender checks have passed.
Needs attention means Batchly has detected an issue with the sender configuration or the DNS records required for Custom Domain sending.
If you recently changed your DNS records, allow time for the changes to propagate before checking again.
Use Check health to run a fresh check of the DNS records required for Custom Domain sending.
This can be useful after DNS records have been added or changed, or if your Custom Domain sender unexpectedly shows that it needs attention.
Suppliers receive the same Batchly remittance information whether you use the standard sender or Custom Domain.
The remittance email can include:
With Custom Domain, the separate grey message stating that the payment advice was sent via Batchly is not displayed.
Custom Domain works with your existing Batchly remittance branding settings.
If you have configured a Trading Name, Batchly can use that supplier-facing name on the remittance instead of the organisation name from Xero.
You can also configure a custom remittance email subject. If no custom subject is entered, Batchly uses the standard subject:
If the sender does not show Ready to send:
The configured From address cannot be edited directly from the Custom Domain settings card. Contact Batchly and we'll update it for you.
Check the Reply-To address configured in your remittance settings. The Reply-To address controls where supplier replies are directed and may be different from the Custom Domain From address.
